Hermes is a focused CMS geared towards Musicians and Record Labels that organically grew from years of personal experience writing essentially the same application to manage music projects that myself and close friends were involved in. While working with Sprokets and Nontoxic Group on other projects, a few clients approached us with interest in a full-featured version of this CMS and from there we collaborated on developing Hermes.
I modeled the CMS around three basic information types that a musician could use, News, Tour Dates, and Discography. This was built on top of an early version of the Blinky framework and to it I added user types and permissions to allow role based write access. To connect with public facing sites I added several interfaces including a set of read-only PHP Database Objects, tunable XML feeds, RSS feeds, rendered image tables and a simple javascript widget.
